Installation Of New Vinyl Replacement Windows
In Whitman, Massachusetts, the Tracey E Lodging house needed to update their older window units with new vinyl replacement windows. In addition, the maintenance manager also had us take a look at an enclosure over a basement egress and a leaking chimney.
Project Overview
The manager of this lodging house was looking for a solution to their outdated windows. Moreover, the existing window units were 25 years old and showed significant damage from rotting to signs of water infiltration. After reviewing different replacement window options with our salesman, the manager decided to go with Paradigms 8-Series vinyl replacement windows. Comparatively, the vinyl windows are almost identical to the Harvey brand and provide a similar warranty and aesthetic look to the home’s curb appeal. Additionally, we removed a chimney and installed new plywood and shingles to patch up the exposed section of the roof.
Furthermore, the manager also had us assess an old structure over an existing bulkhead egress. The old structure enclosed the basement egress with a full-length entry door. Uniquely enough, the roof’s pitch was going back towards the house. Also, to make matters worse, the roofing went straight into a twin double-hung window! Lastly, as a solution, our crews removed the “dog shed” structure and replaced the opening with a standard bulkhead by Bilco.
